 It is sad the price for progress, a lot of stores like that have gone under.
I used to ride 2 miles to one every weekend just to get a soda and candy bar. Good times, great memories.

 We can think Wal-Mart for the demise of the Mom&Pop stores!
They built stores in small towns and large neighborhoods forcing the M&P's out of business, then built "Super" stores, with no more M&P's, we were forced to drive 0 or 40 miles to a store!
They cheat their employees, their suppliers and the customer's!
Had several friends back in the 80's lost their jobs in small towns, had to work for Wal-Mart, then Wal-Mart closed those stores, forcing them to drive 50, 0 miles a day to work!
